ikon.5 architects has designed a new 156,000 -square- foot business school for Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Slated to open in Spring, 2012, the new E.J. Ourso College of Business is designed to be the business incubator for the post-Katrina economy in Louisiana and throughout the Gulf states.

E.J. Ourso College of Business is noted for their programs in entrepreneurship and producing some of the finest business and industry leaders in the South today. The new complex supports their academic mission with 24 tiered classrooms, 35 project team rooms, and numerous casual and informal gathering and study spaces. The complex's design also supports the Colleges' strategic initiative by organizing faculty in collaborative suites to increase research productivity and interaction.

It creates a designated graduate school wing that will enhance graduate and professional degree programs; and it creates an undergraduate school wing with designated classrooms and meeting spaces to enhance and make relevant the undergraduate experience. The complex also provides for presentation and entertainment areas to assist in identifying new resources for the College of Business.

ikon.5 architects are known for their award-winning designs for museums, higher education, libraries, performing arts, and corporate offices. Based in Princeton, NJ, ikon.5's practice extends to Louisiana, Arizona, Delaware and New York.
