Formed in 2003, ikon.5 is an award-winning architecture studio based in New York City. We provide our clients with inspiring, sustainable, and equitable solutions that exhibit a high level of craft, are aesthetically refined and carefully detailed, and achieve design excellence. We believe that architecture is storytelling, using the language of built form and landscape to convey the values of a particular people in their place and time. Our design solutions reflect the regional traditions of the places in which we build, seeking a timeless expression that eloquently tells our clients’ stories. Joe has designed a wide range of projects, including libraries, museums, visitor centers, buildings for schools and universities, houses of worship, performing arts centers, and athletic and recreational facilities. Through his efforts, ikon.5 has received over 100 international and national architectural design awards, as well as multiple nominations for Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Museum National Design Awards. Joe is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.

Arvind Tikku is the managing principal at ikon.5 architects and is responsible for the firm’s operations and staffing. His commitment to the creation of sound work plans, budgets, and schedules for every project ensures that each design is created within a client’s established parameters. His understanding of and ability to balance practical, real-world concerns with the conceptual explorations of our design studio has aided in the creation of projects that exceed client expectations. Arvind has led some of the firm’s most detailed and sophisticated projects—working hand-in-glove with clients to coordinate design, schedule, and budget. His attention to detail and accuracy has allowed each of our projects to achieve the highest level of design and service to our clients.
