Today ikon.5 architects accepted two awards from the New Jersey Chapter of the American Institute of Architects at their AIA Annual Awards Dinner at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park, New Jersey.

The firm’s Center for Business Education at Cornell University earned a Merit Award and the firm’s Learning Resource Center at Suffolk County Community College received an Honor Award in the Built Category, making ikon.5 the sole firm to receive multiple awards for completed projects.

The Center for Business Education is a seven-story, 76,000-square-foot, twenty-first century teaching and learning environment located in downtown Ithaca, New York, one block from the Cornell campus. The Learning Resource Center takes its place at the center of the Suffolk County Community College campus and presents opportunities for team-based learning, experiential learning, and problem-based learning by providing a variety of learning environments.

AIA New Jersey recognizes design excellence in the built environment across a wide range of projects, including single buildings, groupings of buildings, interior architecture, additions, restorations, and adaptive reuse projects.
